olive miller
Olive Beaupre Miller
is the originator of My Book House. She has also wrote LITTLE PICTURES OF JAPAN, NURSERY FRIENDS FROM FRANCE, TALES TOLD IN HOLLAND and My BOOK of HISTORY, a picturesque tale of man's progress from the beginning of time.

Born in Aurora, Illinois, of French, Dutch and Irish ancestry, Olive Beaupre Miller has a heritage of pioneer blood going back to the earliest Dutch settlers of New York in 1635, and coming down through her grandfather, who left the East as a young man and journeyed in a covered wagon west to the Illinois prairies in 1835. Her book ?ÄúEngines and Brass Bands" (see below) recounts some of this history around 1890.

Living in the Middle West, and educated at Smith College in the East, she knew her America thoroughly, and her wide experience in writing for boys and girls enabled her to create a tale interesting to young and old alike.
